Computer Software Specialist (CCSS)
The CCSS Program enables students to understand the engineering of software systems and
products to become a competent software developer. Student will gain knowledge on how
software systems are designed, constructed and maintained. This qualification is paramount
for those people working or aspiring to work in the software development industry. This
qualification develops the candidates’ skills in line with the standards of international software
houses in the world.
In Malaysia, one of the principal causes of unemployment * is the skill mismatch
between the requirements of the industry and the knowledge and skills possessed by
graduates.
Such a mismatch may be partly due to changes in the economic structure and
technological advancement. This phenomenon of unemployed graduates in the midst of an
abundance of job opportunities can be avoided by creating mechanisms for collaboration
between industry and businesses and the educational and training institutions.
[Note: Unemployment here covers both graduates with non-professional jobs or graduates
earning lower than RM1500 – a minimum salary where professional graduates would be earning].
Currently there are thousands of job vacancies in ICT hardcore skills such as programming
and systems analysis, with an increasing demand for computer networking and systems
administration professionals, multimedia and graphics design professionals as well as
vacancies for business development executives and professional marketers. Graduates,
who are professionally trained for these jobs can now easily obtain quality job offers and will be
high in demand in the future.
To meet the shortfall of these professionals, we are proudly introducing our highly successful
CCSP (Certified Career Specialist Program). This program is specifically developed for diploma
and degree holders who aspire to become specialists and be a part of the Malaysian K-Workers
for MNCs and MSC companies and enjoy lucrative and professional careers. Demands for CCSP
certified graduates are greater than what we can supply, reflecting the industry’s recognition
towards this program. Ever since we started the program in 2004, we have produced
over 3,000 graduates and successfully secured 100% job placements for these graduates
who are currently in employment with over 250 companies locally and overseas. In addition,
KLMU works very closely with the industry players to ensure that the curriculum is dynamic
and meets current industrial needs.
These professional certifications require 6 months intensive training for degree holders
and an additional one year for diploma holders to obtain a degree.
